What's the best gift you received this year?

The hubby coming home earlier than I expected :)

When did you really get to make a difference for someone else?

When I volunteered to help build houses for Habitat for Humanity. Although I came home with blisters and aching arms (from hammering and carrying wood), it felt great to be a part of a project that will help those that are less fortunate.

Now when I pass by those homes, I can point out to my daughters and say, "Mommy helped build that home!"

What's on your holiday wishlist?

I think I pretty much got what I wanted (a PS3, new video games, etc.) I do want a new lens for my Canon Rebel XT but that can wait :)

What is your daily commute like?  What is the weirdest thing you've seen on that commute?

Going to work, it really all depends. If I'm taking the 805 North to go to La Jolla, the 805N automatically turns into 5North and then I have to cut through on the 52 West. On average this would take me about 45 - 60 minutes.

Since the South Bay Tollway opened up, at times I save about 10-15 minutes on my commute. I go on the 125, then the 52 west and head on to the 5 to get to the other side of La Jolla (near UCSD).

It's a real bugger...but I love my job so the commute is worth it!

I love the big monitor I ordered at work. Helps SO much when I have a bunch of programs open. The picture on my right is who else...my hubby :)

Did you shop for great deals on Black Friday or Cyber Monday?  Or did you observe Buy Nothing Day?

I was a total "Buy Nothing Day" person. There were great deals, but not worth me camping out at 4 or 5 am and plus I don't have any more people to shop for.

When do you start your holiday shopping?

This year I started early. I began shopping early in November and now I only have 3 people left and my list plus 2 of my secret santa gifts.
